時輪金剛壇城，是辟邪鎮宅的一個最強法門，古時候就連皇宮與寺廟，都會點上這個象徵三千億世界中心，佛祖所居住的地方的壇城。有說此壇城能鎮宅辟邪，可以掛在家中玄關處，妖邪不入。供奉繪製時輪金剛所需資源者，將獲得無量功德，消除無數大劫中造積的所有孼緣及罪障。
時輪金剛壇城以形象表現我們的覺性。鳥瞰壇城的藍圖，636尊的住處，立體的呈現出來。宮殿為三層結構，代表本初智時輪金剛的身、語、意。
時輪金剛代表全知，他與一切時間同在，因此他無所不知。輪，既無始也無終，也是佛教的宇宙論，代表佛陀的法教。
時輪金剛是佛陀傳下來數千種密續法教之一。每一種密續的中央是一個本尊，被視為佛陀某一種特質的特殊化現。它不是神明崇拜，本尊被認知是一種人格化的心識狀態，讓一個行者能夠在成佛的道上前進。
The Kalachakra Mandala is the most powerful method for warding off evil and protecting homes. In ancient times, even palaces and temples would light this mandala, symbolizing the center of three trillion worlds, the place where the Buddha resides. It is said that this mandala can protect homes and ward off evil, and it can be hung in the entrance of a house to prevent malevolent forces from entering. Those who offer the resources needed to create the Kalachakra will gain immense merit, eliminating all negative connections and obstacles accumulated through countless disasters.
The Kalachakra Mandala manifests our awareness. A bird's-eye view of the mandala blueprint reveals the residences of 636 deities in a three-dimensional presentation. The palace has a three-tier structure, representing the body, speech, and mind of the primordial wisdom Kalachakra. Kalachakra embodies omniscience, existing simultaneously with all time, thus knowing everything. The wheel, which has neither beginning nor end, represents the Buddhist cosmology and symbolizes the teachings of the Buddha.
Kalachakra is one of the thousands of esoteric teachings passed down by the Buddha. At the center of each esoteric teaching is a primary deity, regarded as a specific manifestation of a quality of the Buddha. This is not idol worship; the primary deity is recognized as a personified state of consciousness, enabling practitioners to progress on the path to enlightenment.
